A very prolific German artist, born in Switzerland, Albert von Keller (1844-1920) was a typical painter of Jugendstil era. He painted mainly portraits of women - actresses and dancers, the scenes of society life and interiors; his nude female painting was a great success. He lived in a luxury appartment in Maximilianstrasse in Munich and married a beautiful woman, the daughter of the wealthy founder of the Bavarian Mortgage and Exchange Bank. He was awarded his nobility title by the Prince Regent Leopold in 1897.
